The gem of the Caribbean, Barbados is one of the most famous tropical islands in the world. Here the immaculate beaches, natural beauty, palm fringed houses, luxury all inclusive hotels and friendly people make this the perfect holiday destination. With a laid back culture, great food and a nightlife which is accompanied by the sound of reggae music. Come to Barbados and let the warm Caribbean waters wash away your problems.
The former colonial island of Barbados is a beautiful retreat where you will find remnants of its British heritage. The long sun drenched days are perfect for lazing on the beach or maybe joining in with a game of cricket. Let the beat of the music wash over you as you enjoy a drink at sunset and watch as the sun sinks into the sea turning the sky pink and orange.
All About Barbados
Barbados lies on the eastern side of the Caribbean islands and has the warm waters of the Caribbean to its west and the ocean of the Atlantic to its east. It has a population of around 280,000 and the capital city is Bridgetown in the south. The official language in Barbados is English so you will have no problem communicating with locals.
This is the only one of the Caribbean islands which remained a British colony over the years and still retains some quaint British charms. On a Sunday watch a polo match or a game of cricket with tea and scones and some cucumber sandwiches. The beautiful east side of the island is in contrast to the developed Caribbean side to the west. Come and enjoy the warm tropical waters and rum from the sugar plantations.
Barbados Holiday Attractions
Barbados is full of attractions to be enjoyed. Jump on a bus and explore the colonial style buildings which fill the towns and cities or just lie back and relax on the beach. At night the bars are awash with people enjoying themselves as the sounds of steel drums, reggae, tuk and pan music fills the night sky. Off the coast there is plenty of snorkelling, fishing, scuba diving and other water sports to be enjoyed.
